Our Mi-Ki's
The "Who, What and Why" of our Mi-Ki's...
Several years ago George and I were searching for a little "lap" dog. We were retired, and wanted a puppy that would be easy to keep, fun to take with us, and with a great personality. We had never heard of a "Mi-Ki", but saw an add for them in a puppy magazine. After much research on this rare breed dog, and much looking, we found our little "Scooter", and it was love at first sight! This was in April, 2004.
We welcomed Sadie into our home several years later, in February, 2007. By now, we knew a lot more about Mi-Ki's, and had decided we wanted to breed these beautiful little darlings.
Their names, officially, are "Lil' Bitz Premier Debut" (Scooter) and "Shanira's Bewitching Mercedes", (Sadie). We have recently add our new little stud muffin, "Simonsez Im Gremlin of Mapachi", (Gizmo). Our Mi-Ki's are registered with CMA, Continental Mi-Ki Assn., and George and I are proud members of the CMA. And, we have our little Spankie, he's our little love bug; we do not use Spankie for breeding.
Our little Mi-Ki's are also responsible for our kennel name, MAPACHI. When looking for a kennel name, I wanted something simple, but catchy; a name that, once you heard it, you wouldn't be likely to forget it, or at the very least, you would recognize it if you saw it again! After trying names, forwards and backwards, in and out, up and down, and many variations, we decided MAPACHI was it! And here's where it came from...the Mi-Ki breed has its' origins from 3 breeds: MAltese, PApillion, and Japanese CHIn.
